Below is a photo of our socket from the bottom.
Look at the top right of the four contacts. In this contact the wire connection hole is on the left and the wire release is on the top right.
While maintaining gentle pull pressure on the wire gently use something small, like a precision screw driver, to press in the top right release until the wire releases.
If you push this gently until the wire releases then the new wire will hold as good as new.
